Cave For Sale - May 2024

Helvetica Light is an easy-to-read font, with tall and narrow letters, that works well on almost every site.

Cave For Sale is a multi-media sculpted installation. The current installation was crafted over six months from conception to completion. The installation itself brings together the past, present, and future of the realm of cinema. This was achieved by pulling together numerous design elements while being driven by the sole purpose of exploring and discovering new forms of cinema that not only take into account the screen but the theater environment itself.

The installation takes the form of an open house, allowing the audience to tour, spelunk, and immerse themselves within an artificial cave. The animations found on the interior were created utilizing Adobe Photoshop and TouchDesigner, as well as Eadweard Muybridge’s Animals in Motion. The audio was a collaborative effort with musician Jeremy Chontow and uses Sine Waves, modified animal sound effects, and Doo Wop classics of the 50’s. All of these elements are brought together within the cave to create a uniquely immersive simulacra that confronts one with the dwelling space.

While its conception began with the idea of exploration through finding new forms of cinema, the phases of design and construction led to a new way of interpreting and conceptualizing the space. However, only when the audience members step inside and interact with the cave itself will the installation conceptually cement itself.
